Henna Pasifika

Henna Pasifika is Gina Wright's newest book, with 30 pages and 45 designs.

Pasifika is a broad term used to encompass and celebrate the diverse and colourful community of peoples from Aotearoa - New Zealand and the surrounding Pacific Islands.
Henna Pasifika is a collection of tribal style designs inspired by the natural beauty and uplifting vibration of the south pacific, Pasifika region. Containing images influenced by the exquisite arts of Tivaevae – hand sewn quilts of Rarotonga, Tapa - the beautifully decorated, hand beaten bark cloth of Samoa and Tonga, and the Henna Art of Fiji.

The designs capture the warm, rejuvenating and refreshing energy of the south pacific and infused with positive thoughts of sunlight, crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches. Reflected within these designs are the sights, sounds and Aroha of the rich and vibrant tapestry that is Pasifika.

Included amongst the designs are interpretations of the wondrous flora and fauna, creatures of the land and air and the sea life of Aotearoa –New Zealand and surrounding Pacific Islands.
