Henna and the Swimming Pool!

As the temperature rises, and summer begins, we spend more time outdoors and in the pool. While we love the pool we hate what it does to our henna! The chlorine in most swimming pools acts as a blech and fades henna stains very quickly. It also halts the oxidization process and causes fresh henna stains to develop poorly. Swimming in the ocean can also cause henna to fade quickly, as the salt water acts as a natural exfoliator.

To lessen the fading effect of summer swimming be sure to cover you henna stain with a natural henna balm. Artistic Adornment Mango Henna Balm contains natural oils and bee’s wax, which cause the water to bead up on the skin and protect the stain.
