New Imported Henna Design Books – Just In 2

Our friend Danielle just got back from a trip to India, and she brought back a fantastic collection of mehndi design books with her! These are printed books with full color covers and mostly single color / black and white line art inside.

Please click on the cover or link for a book to read more details about it and get your copy.

These Indian mehendi design books are a great source of inspiration for doing traditional henna body art. Most of the designs are suitable for brides, as the coverage is quite heavy, and often there are matching hand and foot patterns.

Artistic Adornment is happy to provide you access to beautiful printed design books like this when we can, but our access to them is quite sporadic. When a friend or family member comes back from a trip and is kind enough to search the local shops for us, that is mostly when we get our imported, printed henna design books in.

This type of henna design book is what our founder, Heather, first started out with when she began doing henna in the late 1990’s. Some of these books were out then are still being printed to this day, and others are brand new. It is excellent to study and practice the designs from one book at a time, to get a feel for an artist’s style and learn to faithfully recreate elements from the designs, so that you can work them into your own repertoire. You will find that by adding a bit of whitespace here and a bit of thickening up lines there, you can give even the older designs a modern feel.

These books really are a treasure trove for the henna enthusiast. They are rare and hard to find, and only come around every once in a while. We are so happy to be able to share these treasures with you!
